Inauguration of the Lagoa Christmas tree, the largest floating Christmas tree in Brazil 

Salvador

15 December to 6 January: 
Special decoration and lighting with 6.2 million micro LED lamps, 500 rotating trees and over 600 hours of light shows in various locations in the city. 

A brand new drones show in the skies above the city, with 300 devices in the Barra lighthouse, Cidade and between the Cidade Baixa and Bonfim. 

Curitiba

22 November:
 “Natal de Curitiba - Luz dos Pinhais” with more than 130 attractions and a carousel on the Passeio Público.



New Year’s Eve 


In Brazil, the New Year is known as the Virada do Ano (literally the turn of the year) and is one of the biggest parties of the year.

Salvador

From 28 December to 1 January: Festival Virada Salvador with shows by Claudia Leitte, Vintage Culture, Durval, Iza, Matheus e Kauan, Saia Rodada, Paralamas do Sucesso, Anitta, Luan Santana, Igor Kannário, Simone e Simaria, Harmonia do Samba, Alok, La Fúria, Gusttavo Lima, Safadão, Léo Santana, Bell Marques, Psirico, Xandy Avião, Dennis, Saulo, Jorge e Mateus, Lincoln & Duas Medidas, Ivete and Daniela Mercury.

31 December: Ivete Sangalo, fireworks for 15 minutes and a show with 300 synchronised drones.

Rio de Janeiro

4 stages spread out over Copacabana beach with 14 minutes of fireworks and many musical attractions.
