Casa do Leão

It is located in São Jorge Castle, an iconic monument in the city of Lisbon, whose imposing façade can still be seen today, and one which was seized by D. Afonso Henriques (the first King of Portugal) from the Moors. The Casa do Leão restaurant, translated as ‘House of the Lion’, has been given this name because it is located in the former home of beasts that once lived inside the walls of the castle.

Just imagine a medieval castle on top of the hill with an awe-inspiring panoramic view, where you can indulge in a memorable gourmet experience and sample the best flavours of traditional Portuguese cuisine, such as ‘peixinhos da horta’ (green beans tempura), grilled codfish or sirloin steak, as well as the latest culinary trends, such as a quinoa salad or a salmon burger prepared by Chef António Mendes.

Inside, you’ll find large tables, vaulted ceilings and walls covered in old tiles typical of the region. The views over Lisbon and the Tagus River from the terrace are stunning. This space can be used for hosting group meals, gala dinners, cocktail parties and banquets.
